Coaching Bill & Giuliana Rancic
January, 2013

Several months ago, I had the opportunity to coach Bill and Giuliana Rancic for their upcoming NBC Primetime dating show, "Ready for Love." When I saw their email in my Inbox, at first I was excited, but then I panicked!

What could I possibly teach Giuliana Rancic... host of E! News, Fashion Police, Live from the Red Carpet, The Miss America Pageant... need I go on? And Bill Rancic -- winner of the first season of "The Apprentice," who established his own career as a TV host of daily shows like "In the Loop with iVillage" and as a co-host of "America Now," with none other than Leeza Gibbons. Yikes!

Thankfully, I know Giuliana from my years of casting at E! and Style, and I knew how great she is. And Bill is the same nice guy that you see on their reality show. Not only was I going to be coaching them, but they also wanted to film our session for their hit show, "Giuliana & Bill." Ruh-roh! I've always shied away from being on-camera and feel like a coaching session is a private thing, but this was what they wanted, so why not? It turned out to be a lot of fun and great to see pros in action.

Did I teach them anything new? Probably not. But what I realized is even the best in their fields have coaches - whether they're movie or TV stars, rock stars or pro-athletes. Just because someone qualifies for the Olympics doesn't mean they go it alone - they continue to train on a regular basis with their coach. Sometimes it helps to have someone else's opinion that may just keep you on track and help you see things from a different perspective. You're never too big to ask for help.
